How To Get A Job By Having A Flawless Interview

Are you one of the few lucky ones to get a call for interview from your dream company? Are you totally prepared to sit in front of the board of directors and promote yourself? If not, then follow these simple steps that I intend to suggest you. First and foremost, be there in time.

This is the most important thing to do while going for an interview. There is a thin difference between being there on time and being there in time. Someone being in time for an interview means being there before time whereas being on time means being there exactly at the time asked for. It is always a better idea to be there in time. If you are late, just think about the impression that you are giving to your hiring manager.

You being late on the interview day means two things…either you are not bothered about the job or you are not responsible enough to join the company! In order to avoid these accusations be early. Moreover longer the face time is the more are the chances for you being able to express yourself to the fullest. The next important thing to do is to know the company well.

Surf the net and find out about the company, about its recent developments, about its CEO and other details. Do not be dumb stricken when asked about the company you have applied to work for. Remember it is your moral obligation to know about the place of work and be quick and prompt with the details. It is not enough to know about the company, make the interviewer know that you know about it and you are not that easy to deal with.

Then comes the rule of listen and don’t interrupt. I might seem self contradictory but it is always a better to let the interviewer speak first. Lend him an ear; let him finish what he wants to speak. Take sometime, think, frame your answer and then speak. Do not hurry because in most cases, people who hurry speak crap! But in the process if you feel that the conversation is coming to a standstill then it is your responsibility to keep it going. In that case show off your research.

Carry copies of your resume. The person interviewing you is a busy person and might not carry your resume to the interview board. So carry one. Anyways, it is better for you if he goes through the resume for a second time and gets the facts about you in his head. Hold up a good personality as it counts a lot, and last but not the least follow up. If the interviewer gives his card then make use of it. Thank him for taking the time out for you and subtly ask for the job.

How To Get A Real Estate License In Texas

Selling real estate can be a challenging and lucrative profession, but before you can begin your new career you will need to obtain your real estate license. In the state of Texas, getting your real estate license takes time, dedication, and a certain amount of financial investment. Before you decide to become a real estate agent, you should first understand the certification requirements. If you believe that you will be able to complete the required steps, you will be able to begin the process.

You will first need to take courses that will teach you about the real estate industry. You will need to take the Principles of Real Estate course, which is 60 classroom hours. You will then need to take the Law of Agency course and the Law of Contracts course, both of which are 30 classroom hours. After those courses are completed, you will finish your real estate education with another 30 classroom hour core course of your choosing, and two 30 hour courses in core subjects or related subjects. Even after your classwork is completed, you will still need to complete the application and testing process before you are granted your license.

Once you have completed your coursework, you will need to have your completion verified. You will need to send transcripts and a $30 processing fee to the state board. Once your coursework is verified, you can take apply for your non-active license. You will need to pay an application fee, which is around one hundred dollars. The application fee is in addition to your coursework and examination fees, which can be quite expensive. Your application fee is non-refundable, even if your application is denied. Once your application is approved, you will be able to take your examination.

The real estate test is administered by an independent company, and you will need to make your test taking arrangements with PSI, not the state real estate board. Once you sign up for your test, you will be able to download practice tests and study materials from PSI's website. You must take and pass the exam within six months of the date of your application approval.

You will also need to be fingerprinted before you can receive your real estate license. Your credit report will also be checked to see if you have ever defaulted on a Texas state student loan. If you have, you will be unable to become a real estate agent. If you have defaulted on a Texas state student loan, however, you can work with the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation to reach a resolution. If you enter a repayment program, you will become eligible for your real estate license.

All new real estate agents are required to have a mentor. This mentor, who will help you get started in the real estate industry, must be a licensed, practicing real estate agent. Once you find a sponsor, you will be eligible for your practicing real estate license, and you will be ready to begin your new career.

The New Housing Economy—Making Financial Assets into Homes

How many times have you moved?

We have moved 8 times from one corporate job to the next until we just said, “STOP!” 14 years ago.

The corporation involved wasn’t the nicest bunch of people. The ambition to be like them just was not there. You do tend to have to adopt your employer’s values to get all the way to the top, which can be problematic if their values are different from yours.

But that was just part of the problem.

We also didn’t want to move any more.

What we really wanted was a permanent home, a real home in our favorite location in the whole country.

As corporate employees we kept buying bigger and bigger houses throughout the years until it was ridiculous. Why do 2 people and 2 pets need a huge house?

We wanted a smaller place that was greener and more our taste. We did not want to be constantly thinking about resale.

So we got off the real estate merry go round and got a small house that is just right.

We do what ever we want to it without worrying about resale. We don’t plan to invest in granite counter tops, which we don’t like and don’t want to purchase. Our appliances are white, as are our plumbing fixtures.

A lot of our remodeling dollars are aimed at what we will need as we get older like accessible baths. We plan to install wall-to-wall carpet over our slate and solid oak floors.

We also have plans to increase our insulation and install a whole house fan.

Notice our choices are very personal, not what so-called “experts” say we have to have for resale.

That is what every HOME has. It has what ever YOU want for your personal comfort. It’s comfortable for you and your loved ones, not just a financial investment.

You can pick any color paint YOU like. Everything can be just what you want, not what the resale experts say you have to do

Houses have been a disappointment as investments for most people. We bought our house 14 years ago. We missed the big run up in prices, too, not that we care. In our location, which is very remote, resale can take years. No one is going to snap up a house unless they really want to be here and nowhere else. Housing prices are cheap compared to most locations especially the ones like California and New York City.

Any one can do what we have done. You can stay in one place, make a life for yourself and pay off your mortgage as fast as you can.

Not having to pay a mortgage payment forever will free up your money for other investments like starting a business, opening a savings account or educating your children.

We chose a house that is energy efficient. It has enough room for parents to move in or kids to move back home. It has some handicapped accessible space, too.

It works well in many ways. A home and a fixed location are what we treasure far more than we did corporate life. Best of all we never have to pay a real estate commission or closing costs again.
