Is Gold Safe?

By Steve Peters

"How cheap can I buy it?" and "Is gold safe?" are two of the most frequent questions gold brokers get. As a former gold broker, I know.

I also know first hand how safe some of the "safest" stocks have been over the last year...who would have thought AIG, Citi, Bank of America, GE and most of Wall Street would be where they are today. I also understand how safe the equity in my home is as prices continue to decline and my equity along with it.

Even cash is shrinking. The dollar buys less than ten cents of the goods and services it did not too long ago. The paper - or money, only has value when others are willing to accept them for goods and services you need. The federal government continues to purposefully deflate the dollar as a strategy to help offset its tremendous debt (and they believe to help stave off total economic crisis - this is probably true in the short term.) They have printed more money over the last two years than they have in the history of our country COMBINED. So they become worth less for everyone who owns them...and guess what, almost everyone owns them.

You own them, I own them, China owns them...lots of them; Japan owns them - as the world's reserve currency, almost everyone owns them in one fashion or another...and those dollars buy less and less every day.

So is gold safe? Compared to what? If you have been following its prices over the last year, as the economic crisis deepened, gold's price went up. Foreign Countries and their Central Banks used to be net sellers of gold. Not any more. They have all turned into buyers. Basically, they are hoarding it. Why? Why would China, who produces more gold than any other country keep all it produces and still be aggressively looking to buy more?

My answer - is gold safe? It is safer when other "safe bets" turn risky. Personally, I don't care what the price of gold is right now. As long as things around the world are as tough as they are now, I see little else that has the upside potential protection when there is all this downside happening around the world every day.

Maybe it will drop lower and never come back. Again, I don't care. Looking for a way to generate short term profit is not why I tell me friends to buy some. I want a hedge...some chance that I own something everyone recognizes and will assign value to if the economy imploded like it almost did in October 2008.

The real danger, or risk, for buying gold is that most buyers do not really know the reasons they should or should not buy gold. They get bounced around from headline to headline...gold broker to gold broker. As a former gold broker, I saw this in action every day. Take it from me, if you do not know why you should buy gold, knowing what gold to buy and for what price is like a roll of the dice. To avoid this...you need to trust someone and learn enough to know what the right gold for the right reasons at the right price is for you and your situation... Owning gold is not for everyone...if you can't answer these questions, you will never know.

In the end, I stand by one prediction: the more money our government prints and releases into the economy; the farther away everyone is from knowing what will happen next... End of story.

Mind Mapping Software Review

In conducting a mind mapping software review, it is important to know this basic definition of mind mapping. Mind mapping applications are computer-based cognitive implements to form maps and help in problem solving and decision making.
The concept of mind mapping was an offshoot from the notion that the customary linear note taking procedures stunt creativity. By arranging ideas in a linear way or conceptualizing in a structured form, our minds are confined to the logical, structured, left-brain thinking process. In mind mapping, the stream-of-consciousness, larger picture orientation, right-brain thinking is liberally motivated.

While offhand, mind mapping may not be connected to business, it is actually a main ingredient to a large domain of business management principles that have been formed over a period of time, specifically the concept of ‘thinking outside the box’. In conducting a mind mapping software review, it is worthy to note that decision making approaches like mind maps, it appears, can motivate enough creative thought to supersede the old linear thinking process. Mind mapping offers new ways for businesses to streamline its business routines and be able to solve previously unsolvable business problems.

Mind Mapping Software for Business Applications

The principles of mind mapping can be used for literally any situation that calls for organization development and problem solving, and this can be a very important implement in business. At the start of a business venture, mind mapping can be used to lay down the foundation or the core of the organization. It is a given that for any business to succeed it must have clear strategies for it to implement. A mind mapping software review is essential to having these core strategies brought to fore.

Mind maps can be very effective implements in formulating business plans for business ventures and can give better understanding of the values with which the business is to revolve. Beginning with a central vision, a mind map can branch out and delineate its own strategies, programs, goals and objectives. Mind maps can also help a lot in creating and developing a host of activities and methods in the introduction of a new product or service of the business organization.

Every product or service has its own beginning central concept. It must have the starting idea from where the said product or service would blossom into what it is first thought out to be. With this central concept, the mind map can make various branches and divisions that would expound and explain the essence of the product or service it carries and this would aid in working through problems towards achieving its objectives.

Advantages of Mind Mapping Software Solutions

With the difficulty of manually creating mind maps using a piece of paper and a set of colored pens, many business entrepreneurs prefer to use the open sources and custodial mind mapping applications available, such as the ViewYourMind, Freemind, Mindjet, and Mind Genius software applications. A part of the mind mapping software review is choosing the right software for you and your business. Many of these software applications now come with three dimensional inherent mind maps that afford easy to understand resolutions. It also affords cooperation and collaboration in work groups using these software applications and make the success of the business a collective effort.

How To Make Money Trading Fx

Trading the forex market can be a very rich and rewarding experience for those traders who have developed the necessary skills to consistently make money at it. Unfortunately however, many aspiring traders never achieve consistent profits due to a lack of proper psychological readiness, lack of a trading plan, lack of an effective trading method, or any combination of the three. Learning how to make money trading the forex market or any market for that matter is a journey into your own mind. On this journey you will learn some very important lessons that will teach you things about yourself you did not previously know. To truly master the forex market and become a professional trader you will first need to master yourself and your own false assumptions and emotional weaknesses, this is the most difficult aspect of learning how to make money trading and the vast majority of traders never succeed because they simply cannot master their own emotions.
We have all heard that psychology is very important in long-term trading success. Generally speaking however, this important nugget of information goes in one ear and right out the other for most aspiring forex traders. Since this is the case it is also no wonder that between 90-95% eventually fail at trading, blow out their trading account, or just give up from frustration. The key factor in cultivating the proper psychological state to master the markets and in learning how to make money forex trading is to completely accept the fact that there is no way you can ever control any financial market and you must learn to operate and profit in an environment of virtually unlimited variables. Most aspiring traders falsely believe that their trading system or trading signal service is far superior to most other traders’ because they spent a lot of money on it or put in countless hours programming some indicator.

The truth is that simple trading methods that make use of raw price action movement are generally the best methods to learn from and also the most conducive to developing the objective psychological mindset you will need to prosper and grow as a trader. Figuring out how to make money trading can drive you crazy if you start over- analyzing every piece of economic data or every new trading system that pops up in a Google search. The most important thing to understand in regards to your trading method is that more is not always better; you will eventually discover that simple and easy to understand trading methods will lead to you making money as a trader. The trading method you use needs to act as a catalyst for developing and maintaining the proper trading mindset. If you start off with a confusing and lagging indicator-ridden method you are only going to end up frustrated, confused and banging your head against your computer monitor, or worse.

One more key and vital factor to properly learn how to make money forex trading is to make sure that after you find a simple trading method that makes use of price action data you then design a written out trading plan that you can read and follow each day. Many traders falsely assume they do not need to write out their trading plan because they can just store it in their head. What ends up happening though is they start bending and breaking their trading plan rules because there is nothing tangible in front of them to look at. When learning how to make money trading it is very important to have a tangible and written trading plan because it will help you stay honest with yourself and accountable, thus furthering your chances of making money consistently in the forex market.

Smart Investing In Education Stocks

Private sector schools are stepping in to meet the growing demand for higher education. This is leading to more opportunities for investing in an education stock.
Going back to school is certainly not a new trend. For many years adults have been trading in 9 to 5 schedules for text books and classrooms. Others have opted to continue working regular jobs and taking on classes at night or on the weekends.

Today, the going back to school is more popular than ever as unemployment rates continue to remain high. Some are going back to school for the same reasons as always, to move further up the career ladder, to pick up specific skills or knowledge that will benefit their current career or for personal enrichment.

Lately, a new movement has taken shape in the higher education arena. Individuals who hadn’t considered going back to school are doing so mainly because they were laid off and have had no luck finding work in today’s economy of 10% unemployment.

That is not the only new observable fact in higher education. Private sector schools like DeVry (DV - Analyst Report) and Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (LINC - Snapshot Report) are stepping in to meet the growing demand for higher education as colleges and universities struggle amid an environment of shrinking state budgets and endowments.

In DeVry’s recent fiscal second-quarter report, President and CEO Daniel Hamburger said, “At a time when state budget cuts and shrinking endowments are making it difficult for colleges and universities to meet the increasing demand for quality education in this country, the private sector is playing an important role in helping to educate our country’s workforce and ensuring that we remain competitive in the global marketplace.”

Because of the increasing demand for higher education in the private sector and in light of the stellar second-quarter results delivered by DeVry, I decided to delve into a few education stocks.

In addition to DeVry (DV - Analyst Report), the education stocks I looked at are Strayer Education Inc. (STRA - Analyst Report), Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (LINC - Snapshot Report) and Apollo Group Inc. (APOL - Analyst Report).

Setting the Stage for Other Education Stocks

Lets start with the education stock that has already reported. DeVry (DV - Analyst Report) turned in a robust second quarter.

Earnings of $1.00 per share topped the previous year’s 59 cents and exceeded the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 20.5%. DeVry boasts a solid track record of beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate, missing forecasts only once since 2007.

The company's second-quarter revenues of $904.1 million were up 34% year-over-year.

Shares of DV spiked 13% on the strong results. As the market sold off in recent sessions, shares have declined a bit. The recent dip can be a great buying opportunity as DeVry's fundamentals point to continued strength going forward.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate advanced on the strong quarter. For the fiscal year ending June 2010, projections of $3.44 per share are up from $3.23 over the past week. For the following year, forecasts of $4.16 were increased from $3.93 over the past week.

The company's valuation is decent as evidenced by a forward P/E of 17.5. DeVry's balance sheet shows no debt. As an added bonus, DeVry rewards shareholders with a dividend yield of 0.33%, while most education stocks pay no dividend.

3 Education Stocks That Could Make You a Smart Investor

If DeVry’s results are any indication, investing in the following 3 education stocks before they report may prove to be very lucrative, especially when taking into account their strong fundamentals.

While all the education stocks featured in this article have a solid record of exceeding earnings expectations, Strayer Education Inc. (STRA - Analyst Report) stands out as it has consistently topped the Zacks Consensus Estimate dating back to April 2005.

Strayer is scheduled to report fourth-quarter results on Feb 11.

The company saw third-quarter earnings of $1.21 per share, outpacing the previous year's 83 cents and surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 4%.

In comparison to the other education stocks in this article, STRA does have the highest valuation with a forward P/E of 21.9, which is not cheap but also not overly expensive.

Strayer also has no debt on its balance sheet. The company's return on equity (ROE) of 59% is pretty much in line with where other education stocks stand as the industry average is 58%. This education stock also pays a dividend. Yielding 1.3%, it offers the highest dividend among the education stocks in this investment idea.

Analysts polled by Zacks have held full-year 2009 earnings estimates steady at $7.58 per share over the past 3 months. For the following year, the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $9.50 is up a penny from the 3 months-ago level.

Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (LINC - Snapshot Report), which is scheduled to announce fourth-quarter results on Mar 3, is seeing a bullish Zacks Consensus Estimate. Current full-year earnings forecasts of $1.69 per share were increased from $1.47 over the past 3 months. For 2010, estimates of $2.07 climbed from $1.82 over the same time period.

The company posted third-quarter earnings of 50 cents per share more than doubling the year-prior 22 cents and eclipsing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 35%. Since Oct 2005, Lincoln's earnings came in below the Zacks Consensus Estimate only once, matched 3 times and exceeded expectations in all the other quarters.

Earnings per share are expected to grow 22% over the next 3 - 5 years, which in line with the industry projections for other education stocks.

Lincoln's forward P/E of 10 gives it the most attractive valuation among the education stocks covered in this article.

Apollo Group Inc. (APOL - Analyst Report) is scheduled to release its fiscal second-quarter report on Apr 6.

The company recently posted first-quarter earnings of $1.47 per share, beating last year's $1.12 and outpacing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.45. Since April 2005, Apollo has missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate only 3 times, matched once and surpassed forecasts during all the other quarters.

Unlike the aforementioned education stocks, Apollo has seen a slight decline in the Zacks Consensus Estimate for the current and following fiscal years. However, other fundamentals are attractive, such as its forward P/E of 11.7 and a return on equity (ROE) of 58% with very little debt on the balance sheet.

However, the stock is currently a Zacks #3 Rank (Hold), while the other education stocks discussed in this article hold either a Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) or a Zacks #2 Rank (Buy). Thus, Apollo may be one to watch for a little while, especially since the earnings announcement is a couple months away.

Options Trading - Basics of Options Trading Explained

By : Anthony J Manly

Option trading gives us huge amounts of leverage. Think of a water skier behind a boat all the boat driver has to do is turn the wheel slightly and the skier is flung past the boat at a rapid pace or leveraged past the boat. So in the technical sense leveraging means using a small effort to move a large object.

Looking at it from a financial sense, leverage is having control over a much larger investment or asset, or gain a very high return using a small amount of money. From my own experience the uneducated use, or abuse of leverage can be risky. In fact, Any investment strategy carries a great risk if you don't know what you are doing. Your "risk" when trading any Stock Market means the probability of a donation (loss) of your trading capital. A common misconception with Option Trading / Stock Options is that their use carries a very high risk. Actually Stock Trading can carry a greater risk...let me explain why.

Leverage - What you need to remember with Option Trading / Stock Options is that they allow you control over the same amount of shares using small amounts of money than you would need to buy the actual stock. Obviously this is the leverage we are talking about. However consider this... When you are Options Trading, you risk a much smaller amount of money for the same quantity of the underlying stock, so in actual fact if you were to buy the stock outright, your risk would be considerably higher!

Here's an example...if XYZ shares (my favourite stock) was currently trading on the ASX at $30.00 and a Jan $30.00 Call Option costs $ 1.60, we could buy 1000 shares of XYZ for $30,000 or we could spend just $1,600 on the May $31.00 Call Options. By purchasing the Call Options, you would still control the profits on $ 30,000 worth of XYZ shares, but the maximum you would stand to lose is only $1,600 compared to the whole $ 30,000 if we were to buy the actual shares.

Leverage becomes dangerous when we decide to risk the whole $30,000 in Stock Options, and is one of the biggest mistakes made in Options Trading. When using the power of leverage with Stock Options Trading there are various ways to reduce your risk, depending upon which strategy you choose to use, and your discipline to follow money management rules. Short selling - There is really only one way a Stock trader can make money in a down trend, and that is to "Short Sell" a stock. This is the process of selling in advance, stocks that you do not own, with the assumption that the stock price will continue to fall. This exposes the trader to an unlimited amount of loss should the stock rally all of a sudden, resulting in margin problems.

As an Option Trader, you could simply buy put options to profit from the same drop but limit your potential losses to only the price of the put options. For example....if XYZ shares were trading on the ASX at $30.00 and a Jan $30.00 Put Option costs $ 0.80 then buying 1 contract of Put Options would expose you to a maximum loss of just $ 800 if the stock price should rise to $ 35. However if you were to short sell the same shares, your maximum potential loss, would be $ 3,000. One Direction - When you trade the stock, you either make money when the stock goes up or when it goes down (when you short sell) but NEVER in both directions at the same time. In options trading however, there are strategies that allow you to profit from BOTH up or down moves, as well as when the price trends sideways. If you can profit from any direction, then the higher your chances for profit and therefore the lower the risk. I will show you in another article the covered call strategy.

Hedging - Hedging is the practise of insuring against risk. With Stock Options you can take a position to offset the risk in another. When you trade Stocks, the only way to hedge your position against risk is to manage and diversify your portfolio. When trading Stock Options, you can not only manage and diversify your portfolio, you can also hedge options with options to minimize your potential losses, and even hedge, or insure stocks with options!

Stock options are a far more advanced financial instrument than stocks themselves, and they can allow you to profit regardless of market direction or conditions. But just as you face a potentially high risk if you drive a car without a safety/seat belt, if you don't obey the rules when using leverage and trading Stock Options you expose yourself to the same possibilities. However, when leverage is respected and used properly, Options Trading can be safer than Stock Trading.

Penny Stocks - Cash Out Or Reinvest?

By : Mike Caputo

Don't be in a rush to cash out or reinvest your penny stocks. They can take awhile to make substantial gains.

You must watch your trades and make sure you know it is a good time to sell and cash out your trades. Timing is everything. If you sell too soon you could lose out on a major move up in the stock and if you wait too long your investment could turn south very fast.

However if you need the money you should consider selling just a small percentage. This way if the stock's value moves up you won't miss out on the potential gain. And you also get to enjoy at least some of your profits in the moment.

A very common mistake investors make is to cash out based out on emotions only without any logical input. Either they panic and sell too soon or they get greedy and stay too long. It's a balancing act.

Do your research and sell only based on what you know is true about the company's stock and keep your emotions in check. You'll know how the stock is performing by watching it, considering any news that comes out and any other information you have gathered about the company since you bought the stock.

When you do sell take your original investment and re-invest it. Spend your profits if you like or put them aside. You can then take your original investment and buy another stock. Or take the profits, but not your investment, and reinvest your profits in another stock. But don't use both to reinvest. If you take the profits and put your original investment aside you always have that amount to invest with again if you lose your profits on the second trade.

If you are doing really well trading penny stocks don't allow yourself to get cocky or greedy. Continue to prudently research any future trades. Think before you trade. Have a good sound financial reason to invest in another stock. If you go off overconfident that is when you will fail. If you succeeded with a plan the first time don't abandon that plan on your next trade or investment.

By using and sticking to a plan that works you will continue in an upward trend and when

you do have setbacks, and everyone does, you will know what went wrong and adjust your trades the next time. Knowing why your penny stock investment went wrong will help you avoid the same mistake in the future. And that will help you have more winners than losers.

Another way you can control your urges to be greedy or react with fear is to enlist the services of a penny stock newsletter. One that is making its members lots of winners and very few losers is MicrocapMillionaires.

Marketing Without The Frustrations

by: Janice Jenkins

We often get frustrated with the outcome of our marketing efforts. Most of the time, we get lackluster results rather than what we expect. Even with a marketing campaign supported by real data gathered methodically and conscientiously, we most often than not fall prey to promotional gimmicks that are created on a whim. Instead of planning carefully and strategically, our impulse is to run promotions based on the latest media trend.

This is especially true nowadays when we are working on a limited budget for our marketing campaigns, not to mention that consumers are now curbing their buying activities. Just because business is slow, we tend to go for media trends that may be offering a great rate or even those that are fashionable, hoping that these media gimmicks will help get our business out of the doldrums.

However, although these marketing activities can help us gain attention from our target clients, they lack what it takes to build brand value. Instead of focusing on giving more meaning to our marketing efforts, we tend to go for something that would give us instant attention for quick repair of our situation. It is like applying first-aid for temporary relief. Our pain would be taken cared of for now…but it will not last very long.

So rather than go for instant marketing gimmicks to attract attention, why not make our marketing campaigns more meaningful? Instead of putting more weight on instant sales, we have to work on creating stable relationships with our target clients.

Marketing campaigns such as booklet printing or printing booklets may mean immediate results that can increase our sales. But it should not just stop on that one transaction. When printing booklets for example, you have to consider longer relationships where your clients would want to go back to purchase your products again and again. This means targeting on encouraging more repeat business from your customers so you can help your business survive in your chosen industry. You have to capitalize on what you have to offer and make sure that you build brand value from these benefits.

How do we do this then? By focusing our efforts on defining clearly our target market and the right message to give them. Our marketing campaign definitely would have more meaning to our target audience if the message we give them is what they are looking for. Having the right message for the right target audience goes a long way in having a meaningful and effective marketing strategy that would bring in a huge difference between having a successful business and a failed one. By providing your target clients with the right message, you are able to help your clients make a wise decision whenever they purchase your products and services.

Early Retirement Planning- What Can You Do To Retire Early?

By: Martin Bertolli

Early retirement can occur somewhere between 50 and 58 years old, but if you have a feasible retirement plan and prepare earlier, you can be retiring at a much earlier age.

First you should start saving as early as possible. You should be saving at least 10% of your retirement just to cover the basic necessities. However, if you want to live comfortably, the number should be increased to 20%.

You ought to determine how much money you will need to make annually in order to cover your living cost after retirement. If you retire at 55 years old, and you expect yourself to at least another 30 years, you ought to save enough money to support yourself for those 30 years.

Don't forget about inflation when you calculate your needed savings. For example, you can expect to live off $30,000 a year right after you retire. However, after 20 or 30 years, the amount of money you need yearly many increase to 100,000 due to inflation.

Another important thing you ought to do first before start saving is getting rid of all debt. You should work steadily to pay all your debts down as quickly as possible, while putting in at least 10% of your income in to a retirement saving plan.

The last but also very important point when it comes to early retirement planning is that you have to spend prudentially. Don't splurging your money on expensive luxuries; put it towards your retirement savings in stead. It doesn't mean that you have to live dirt-cheap; it means you have to be frugal in your spending. Early retirement is not easy and it is necessary that you have to make some sacrifices in order to obtain the desired result. While spending your money on a Louis Vuitton handbag may sound like a great idea, if you are not wealthy, doing so will keep you away from being able to retire early. And by the way, while you are saving for your retirement, be happy and enjoy life as well. Don't bother too much that this month you haven't saved enough or that month you will need to put away $5,000 to cover for the previous month. Living happily is the key to feeling fulfilled in life and you should be enjoying every moment of your life.

The Emotional And Psychological Side Of Trading Trades

By: Indranil Sengupta

We promised that we would elaborate on what we meant by the emotional and psychological aspects of trading stocks and other instruments. So, here we are. We think that if you laughed or scoffed at that statement earlier, you will change your mind after reading this note.
Let us begin with the fundamental basis of a trade. What is really happening in a trade? Typically one trader is buying something what another trader is selling. You will say, well that is obvious. Yes, we agree it is obvious. But do we really understand what is going on when the trade happens? What is really happening is this: For the same stock (also true for any instrument, but we will just keep it simple and use a stock instrument as an example), at the same price, at the same time, one trader thinks the stock price will go up and so this trader is buying the stock and the other trader thinks the stock price will go down and so this other trader is selling the stock.

Hope we have not confused you. But what we are trying to say here is that one trader’s instinct, or whatever this trader is using to make a judgment, is telling him or her to buy and another trader’s instinct is telling him or her to sell. Remember that one thing that every book or expert in the world will tell you and probably the first thing that a trader understands is that you make money by buying low and selling high. And if you end up buying high and selling low, you end up loosing money. (We are talking of simple trades here and disregarding the fact that when you buy put options contracts, you make money when the stock price actually goes down. We will discuss more on that in another article).

So, one trader’s best judgment is telling him or her to buy and the other trader’s best judgment is telling him or her to sell. The reason why this is happening is because of the difference in temperament, psychology and emotions of the two traders. We do not realize, but unconsciously the trading decisions that we make are very much based on how we are feeling at the time. It is based on what we are thinking. Do we think that our future is bright and secure? Do we think that the economy and market around us is good or bad? Are we positive about the future or are we thinking that things are getting worse? Are we happy at work? Do we have a good work-life balance? Are we earning enough money or do we think we are not getting what we deserve?

It is our overall outlook at that point in time that unconsciously plays a part in our trades. This is why we have a trade in the first place. As the saying goes, one man’s food is another man’s poison. If we are nervous for some reason, then we think that things are going to go bad and end up selling. If we are feeling positive and confident, we think that things are going to get better and end up buying. Books and education and software can teach us all about trading and how to trade. But how we actually end up trading is very much based on our emotional and psychological state of mind.

Implications Of Money Laundering

By:Abuzar Tariq

Money laundering is referred as to make to proceeds of the crime appear respectable. The whole world is now taking serious actions against money laundering.
In United Kingdom, the parliament has passed money laundering act. This act has been influenced on different parliament acts. These are:
Drugs Trafficking offences Act 1986
Criminal Justice Act 1993
Terrorism Act 2000
Anti Terrorism Crime Security Act 2001
Proceeds of Crime Act 2002
Money laundering is based on different crimes. It is just the end form of different crimes. Some criminal offences are mentioned below which are included in Proceeds of crime Act:
Laundering: Acquisition, possession or use of the proceeds of crime

Failure to report: If somebody fails to disclose knowledge or suspicion of money laundering then he will be liable for crime.

Tipping off: Somebody who disclose information to any person who is involved in some crime then he is also liable and contributor in crime.

For example a bank manager who see any illegal transaction then he should declare this information to money laundering reporting officer, before the transaction took place or right after the transaction. Otherwise he will be investigated and failure to disclose will lead him to crime.

There are three major phases in money laundering which are mentioned below:
Placement
Change the initial disposal of the illegal activity into legal business activity.
Layering:
It means to put different layers to hide the original proceedings.
Integration:
After placement and putting different layers, the money has the appearance of legal funds.

Accountants can play a vital role in reducing the chances of money laundering. They have to be very careful while preparing accounts of company because accountants are liable to disclose any illegal activity inside the company. Now accountants have to be followed many regulations which are set by IASB. It is mentioned in these regulations that accountants will be asked of any suspected transaction.

If somebody has been involved in the above offences then he may have to face serious penalties. The British Law sets out the following penalties in relation to money laundering:

1. Person who is directly related to money laundering can be penalized 14 years imprisonment and/or fine.
2. A person who is responsible for failure to report information may be given 5 years imprisonment.
3. 5 years imprisonment is given for tipping off a suspected launderer; it means suspected launderer must not be alerted.
